ANNOUNCEMENT:
The rest of this month until the end of November is
Enrage Robin Hobb Month Time... thing at the forums that don't exist. Think of the silliest, crackiest, most graphic Hobb fanfiction you can-- and then write it. You can submit your story on the forums that still don't exist, or you can email them to me at wingedmenace@yahoo.com, subject titled "Enrage Robin Hobb Month" or "Crackfic."
And yes, it
is a desperate attempt to keep the forums that have never existed alive.
The stories do not have to be long or well-written (though decent spelling and grammar are still reccomended. It's Enrage Robin Hobb Month, not Enrage the Grammar Nazis Month). The author of the crackiest story will receive a
FREE JOURNAL from the forums that don't exist's sponsor (which happens to be me)!
Crack? Hobb? Prizes?! THERE IS NO REASON FOR YOU NOT TO PARTICIPATE.
Because face it, Robin Hobb is beautiful when she's angry.
Contest entries will be accepted until November 30th; Stories must be a minimum of 500 words. The crackier the better, but overdone silliness is not what'll win you this contest. Insane is easy; funny is hard.
GO GO GO!
If you do not yet have access to the forums that don't exist, or you've found you've been deleted in the last activity check, email me for the password and go and register a name!
on LJ, anyway. No one's going to stuff fanfiction up your nose, unless you want them to.Oh, and I'm not un-friending myself from each and every Hobb board on LJ. :) There are still communities where people seem to respect the author, and that's where I can spend my time more comfortably.
I didn't mean to offend anyone, and I'm sad that you seem to be somewhat angry. My leaving this (and previously that one other group) is not because I feel I could make a difference by boycotting, but because it just doesn't feel good to stay.
If Fitzfiction bothers you, you have every right to leave. I understand that some people don't share either my views on amateur creativity or my flagrant disregard for authority. I believe that it's Hobb, not her fans, that are in the right here-- but that's just me. Like I said-- if you want to go, bai bai and thank you for being a part of the community in its prime.
If an author wants respect, she wants to earn it. Being a good author, and a respected one, are two very different things.
OMFG JOURNAL. You rock the hardest in the world, babe. Does shipping work if you live in
the ass end of nowhereIsrael? *hopeful*You're probably going to win anyway, so the question's redundant, but a girl can dream, eh?This is genius. A million thanks for the effort and briliance which took to do this. XD I'm definitely going to participate. (Can we submit more than one?) Cheers!
